The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and the South Dakota American Legion Post 308 will host an all-day event in honor of Veterans Day. The event will take place on Saturday, November 11, at the CRST Veterans Center in Eagle Butte.
Events will start in the morning with a flag raising ceremony that will include an honor song and victory song, a firing squad, and the playing of taps.
Korean War veterans will be honored with a special awards ceremony. The medals that will be awarded are a commemorative medal from the Korean government as gratitude to U.S. service members who served in the Korean War.
