Second graders, 72 strong, with all five teachers and three para-professionals, traveled to Pierre on Tuesday, April 9, for their spring field trip. Field trips are great experiences for students so that they can take part in educational learning outside the classroom. The students learned about science in a hands-on fashion at the Discovery Center. Students had many different experiences, from “How Sound Travels” to “How the Dam Works” demonstrations with the students taking part in activities for over two hours. Students rounded out their day with a trip to the park by the river, and then a meal at McDonald’s before returning home just in time for school to get out. Everyone had a great time and learned lots in this Field Trip sponsored by the school and TECA.
