Santa arrives in Eagle Butte to kick off the holiday season

Santa Claus arrived in Eagle Butte on Small Business Saturday, November 27. The Jolly Old Elf made arrangements to greet the public at 210 Main Street in the building formerly known as the Outrider Café.

Santa spent from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with children and their families. He regaled the children of stories from the North Pole as they feasted on Mrs. Claus’ sugar cookies and more treats.  Santa thanked the sweet little girl, Renesmee Pay Pay, for the several works of art she made for him as a gift as she waited all day to see him. She proudly presented the drawings to Santa.

Santa spent time with each child, asked about their wishes for Christmas, and gave each child a brightly decorated cellophane baggie filled with goodies.  Santa greeted everyone who came to see him with a cheerful, “Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas!” and reminded everyone to come to the Chili Feed and Parade of Lights later that evening.

Later, Santa joined in the fun at the Parade of Lights by jumping in the back of one of the trucks in the parade and greeting the public as the vehicle made its way down Main Street from the 20-1 School to Highway 212.
