As another Veteran’s Day draws near, please honor our vets who have given all.
Remember their sacrifices; Let our respect cushion the fall.
Those of us who have never served, cannot completely comprehend.
The determination it took, to stay until the very end.
From the beaches of Normandy, to the rugged terrain of Korea.
They fought a A Shau Valley, and gave their all at Burma.
As a little girl, I recall one night, the Tribal Police, with an Army telegram, at our door.
Informing us my brother was wounded. In Vietnam, of course, and nothing more.
So if you’ve seen action in Germany, Saigon, France, or Kuwait.
Remember, our warriors deserve respect. And for some, their safe return,
WE STILL WAIT!
