Eagle Butte

Q & A with Principal Julie Marshall

What is your anti-bullying policy and how do you implement it?

Our antibullying policy is quite detailed and is available on our website: www.timberlakeschool.org.  This is an item that we are on alert about always.  We encourage students and parents to report bullying concerns to teachers and administrators quickly so that we can act and support the affected students.

How do teacher evaluations correspond to student achievement?

In my opinion, there is a direct correlation between the two.  One of my most important duties as a principal is to coach teachers and help support them to be their best!  We use the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching to evaluate teachers which encompasses multiple facets of the teaching profession.  I spend an ample amount of time in classrooms in order to maximize teacher performance.

What, in your opinion, is the importance of parent/teacher conferences?

Parent/teacher conferences are one component of family involvement and engagement.  We all know that one of the keys to student success is family partnerships.  At Timber Lake School, we constantly attempt to encourage parental involvement and we are fortunate to have forged successful relationships!

Julie Marshall is the Middle School/High School Principal at Timber Lake School.
