February 6, 2016 PFC Garreaux, Paul, returned from South Korea after a yearlong deployment from the Cheyenne River reservation to visit family and friends.

On February 20, 2016, the local Lakota Warrior Society escorted Paul and he removed his ribbon from the Veteran tree. A dinner and a giveaway were held in his honor. This was sponsored by his mother LaVae High Elk Red Horse and step father Hermus Red Horse and nephew/son Chaske Johns. Family members came from Crow Agency, Montana, Oglala, Pierre, Rapid City, and the surrounding area were all present to share this Wopila for a safe return.

He flew back to duty on February 28, 2016. Paul will be stationed at Fort Bliss, which is located by El Paso, Texas. This is where he will remain until the end of his term.
