Eight votes seperated James “Jim” Pearman from challenger Melvin Traversie in the District 4 special election held on June 26.
Pearman collected 184 votes to Traversie’s 176 votes.
The special election was held to fill the unfinished term of Wayne Ducheneaux II who resigned from council last December.
Pearman will hold the seat for six months to fill the term and will be running again for one of two four year terms that vacate in November.
