National Native American Boarding School Healing Virtual Summit Nov. 19 – 20, 2021

The National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) is now accepting registrations for its Second Annual Virtual Summit: “Healing in a Time of Truth and Justice” on Friday, November 19, and Saturday, November 20, 2021.

Anyone who wishes to participate in the summit can register on-line at www.nabshealingsummit.org/. NABS is offering complimentary registration for everyone who wishes to attend.

According to the website for the summit, “…it is more important than ever that we gather together to hear from boarding school survivors and honor the many-faceted experiences of those who attended Indian boarding schools. Centering on Truth, Justice, and Healing during our two-day Virtual Summit, we will highlight the intergenerational voices who are the heart of this movement.”

Also on the agenda for the summit will be latest updates on the bill that has been introduced into the United States Congress for a Truth and Healing Commission on U.S. Indian Boarding Schools and ways that summit participants can support this crucial legislation.

NABS is a membership organization comprised of over 80 Native and Non-Native members and organizations committed to boarding school healing. Since its formation, NABS has been part of a grassroots movement of boarding school survivors and descendants, tribal leaders, Native academics, researchers, and advocates who seek truth, justice, and healing for boarding school impacts.

NABS does not require a membership fee for individuals to join and there are no annual membership dues. More information including the membership application is found at boardingschoolhealing.org/about-us/membership/.

Survivors of residential schools in need of support can call a toll-free line at 800-721-0066 or a 24-hour crisis line at 866-925-4419, a service sponsored by the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FISN).
