The City of Eagle Butte proudly received a Certificate of Achievement Award for the quality of its public water system last month. The award was given by the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR).
Special recognition is due to Max Ganje, the city’s Public Water System Operations Specialist. Congratulations Max! We see your hard work and how you consistently go above and beyond!
“We cannot live without access to safe and reliable drinking water,” said DANR Secretary Hunter Roberts. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of South Dakota’s drinking water system operators and their efforts to ensure their customers have access to clean drinking water.”
Mayor James Traversie joined in praising Ganje, saying he is extremely proud of the City’s Superintendent. Traversie noted that Ganje is extremely knowledgeable, works tirelessly, and is often a one-man show when it comes to providing water, sewer and transportation services to the city. In addition, Ganje supports recreational efforts and so much more. “He has truly stepped up to the plates and faced many challenges,” said Traversie.
Ganje gave credit to the entire City team, saying “Providing a quality service is a team effort for which we all here at the City of Eagle Butte and TCWA work at, shoulder the responsibilities for, and take pride in.”
To qualify for the Drinking Water Certification of Achievement Award, public water systems and their system operations specialists had to meet all of the compliance monitoring and reporting requirements, drinking water standards, and certification requirements for 2020.
