Chris Kessler, Calby Pearman, and Tate Longbrake each secured a win in their respective events at the Victory Day Rodeo held in Eagle Butte on June 25.
Chris Kessler was the only cowboy out of eight contestants to make the eight second whistle in the bull riding. Kessler scored a 74 and took home a check for $471.
Tate Longbrake won the Saddle Bronc riding with a 76 point ride winning $243.
Calby Pearman was quick with the rope in the Ladies Breakaway with a catch of 2.95 seconds. Pearman took home $555 for her win.
Local ladies dominated the Ladies Barrel Racing. Although growing up in Kyle, Taylor Christensen has Cheyenne River roots. Christensen won the barrel racing with a run of 16.283. Jakki Ward of Dupree was second, while Tatum Ward of White Horse finished third. Dylan Lemmon rounded out the winners circle with fourth.
Ward also finished third in the Ladies Breakaway with a time of 3.88.
In the junior events, Kashlin Bettelyoun won the Barrel racing with a 16.34 run. Shantell Brewer was fourth at 17.31.
Brewer also won the Jr. Breakaway roping. She was the only roper to make a catch.
