High School begins second semester courses

Second semester is upon us, and students will have a mix of continuing, year-long classes and new, semester-long classes.

Students received their new schedules on Monday.

Parents will get a chance to meet with teachers at the Parent/Teacher conferences Friday, March 8, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Parents can contact the school to schedule an appointment with any teacher if they want to meet sooner than the scheduled  conference time.

The next scheduled holiday for students and staff is Feb. 18.

Parents can help students  remain focused as we move into the Spring semester.

Students are currently completing their MAPs tests for math, english and science, and will likely be sharing their scores with parents and guardians in the coming weeks.

MAPs scores, when students take the test seriously, can provide a good overall view of a student’s ability in the tested subject areas.

C-EB teachers use the scores to inform instruction in their classrooms, and hopefully prepare students for the state Smart Balanced test and the ACT test.

Parents can help teachers by encouraging students to try their best on these various assessments.
