Evelyn Lorie Black Elk (Eagle Chasing)

Evelyn Lorie Black Elk (Eagle Chasing) 56, went home to the Creator on December 20, 2020 in Roundup, MT, after her courageous cancer battle. She was born November 16, 1964 in Eagle Butte, SD to Freda Eagle Chasing (Blue Arm).

Lorie grew up in Eagle Butte, SD.  She attended Job Corps in SD and UT before giving birth to her first son. She was a free spirit who traveled all over and made many friends along the way.  She loved attending the Sturgis Bike Rallies. She was a proud supporter of AIM. Lorie had her struggles throughout her life but she had a big heart and in the last years of her life, she achieved sobriety, gave back to community by helping feed the homeless, and cooked for the covid-quarantined and gave whatever she had to someone in need. We will miss you dearly.

She is survived by her sisters Frankie Fish (Billings, MT), Sabina Harmon (Melstone, MT), Dixie/Rod Allen (Roundup, MT), and Ravene Fish (Phoenix, AZ), her children Devin Phillips (Rapid City, SD) Delvin Baumgarten (Rapid City, SD), Cheyenne Wise Spirit/Dave (Madison, SD), her grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends, her life partner Ben Noble and her cherished cat Thomasina “BayBay girl”.
