Ed Widow Day Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe honors eldest council representative

At 86 years old, District 3 Council Representative Ed Widow has the distinguished honor of being the eldest and longest term holder of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Council. Widow, along with other council representatives, was sworn into office on Tuesday, December 4 at the Cheyenne River Motel conference room in Eagle Butte. This year marks the 30th year that Widow has served as a council representative, and for his dedicated service to the people, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe declared Tuesday, December 4, 2018 as Ed Widow Day. Widow was presented with a star quilt, eagle feather, and a framed proclamation. The CRST Inauguration Ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, at the C-EB High School auditorium.
