EB Volunteer Fire Department gets new truck; announces change in annual fundraising event

The Eagle Butte Volunteer Fire Department has welcomed its newest member – a brand new 2019 F-650 cabin chassis, which will replace the current 1994 fire truck, said Fire Chief Rick Neigel.

The department received the new fire truck after it was awarded a grant from USDA which paid for half the cost of the truck. The remaining half, which totals $16,000.00, must be paid by the department, said Neigel.

In effort to raise these funds, the department has changed its annual fundraiser event from the annual fireman’s ball to a euchre and a Texas holdem tournament, which will be held on November 9 at the Eagle Butte Volunteer Fire Department.

“Attendance to fireman’s ball has been declining for the past few years, so this year we decided to change things up and do something different,” said Neigel.

In addition, the department is raffling off a Henry Golden Boy .22 LR rifle, with tickets starting at $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00.

To purchase raffle tickets, you may contact any Eagle Butte volunteer fireman. For information about the euchre/Texas holdem tournament, you may call Kent at 605-965-7139.
