Eagle Butte man facing seven charges



A 32 year old Eagle Butte man is facing several charges federal charges following an incident on July 11.
Allen Garreau appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on July 27, 2016, and pled not guilty to seven charges.
Garreau was indicted by a federal grand jury for two counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault by Strangulation and Suffocation, Assault Resulting in Substantial Bodily Injury to an Intimate Partner, Child Abuse, and Assaulting, Resisting, Opposing, and Impeding a Federal Officer.
The charges are merely accusations and Garreau is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The investigation is being conducted by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.  Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Miller is prosecuting the case.   
Garreau was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending trial.  A trial date has not been set.
