The City of Eagle Butte will be holding a city election next Tuesday.
Two seats are up for grabs, one in Ward II and the other in Ward III.
The Ward II seat is currently held by Mark Steffan and is being challenged by Richard Briggs.
Steffan defeated Briggs in 2014 by a single vote 10 to 9.
In Ward III, three candidates are vying for the seat currently held by Tigger Joens.
Joens ran for the seat unopposed in 2014 but will face two other candidates in this go around.
The two candidates running for the vacancy are Julie Garreau and Tiny Martin.
Both seats are for five year terms.
In Ward I, the seat held by Rolland (Rollie) Ducheneaux is open. Ducheneaux was the only candidate to submit a petition and will automatically be seated for five years.
The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on April 12.
At the county level, incumbant Dewey County Commissioners Robert Keckler and Robert Berndt both have submitted petitions for re-election and are both running unopposed.
Steve Aberle has filed a petition for re-election as the Dewey County States Attorney and Chuck LeCompte has submitted a petition for county coroner. Mikki LaCompte as filed a petition for the county treasurer seat.
