Evolving into someone better: Creation and Evolution
By Tovano Brown, E.A.G.L.E Center
“Unity Circle” is a weekly gathering held at the E.A.G.L.E. Center that features discussion topics that promote student well-being. Tovano Brown, a freshman at the E.C., was moved to craft his own manifesto after a Unity Circle session about self-improvement and goal setting (1/10/2020). He generously shared his wisdom with students and staff at the following Unity Circle meeting, held 1/17/2020, by reading his words and speaking about the deeply felt meaning behind them.
Lack of motivation is a symptom of depression, but it may be caused by something else. If you’re having difficulties coping with an issue in your life or experiencing something that affects your self-confidence, you may lack motivation.
One way to boost your motivation is make a clear purpose for yourself. Choose something you really care about, and something you can commit to. If you can’t commit, then work on your commitment! Set measurable, achievable goals. Set yourself up with goals you know you can meet. Be ambitious. Think beyond yourself. Put yourself in others’ shoes to think, and see things from a different perspective.
Life is a manipulative place, along with reality. Life can be rough, but it can also be beautiful at the same time. When most people go through their “teen years”, they see a lot of reality, and it’s hard to stay positive after you see a lot of negativity. It changes your perspective on life dramatically. The truth can be positive if you think positively. The same as when you think negatively, and bring negative things into your mind, negative things will appear. If you think positively and bring positive things to your mind, positive things will appear.
It’s all energy, and when you learn to love other people regardless of anything, it is the best feeling, especially when that energy and love is given back. You learn to create and evolve.
