There was a big turnout for this year’s in-person Dupree School PreK-12th Grade Christmas Concert. Clearly the community missed the event, which was pre-recorded and posted online last year in the absence of a live concert. Instructor Mr. Rex Laughlin and all his students, from the youngest in PreK to seniors in high school, brought Christmas spirit to the Dupree community through a variety of songs from traditional pieces like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “I’ll be Home for Christmas” to modern upbeat numbers like “We Will Jingle” and “Hip Hop Elves.” The students enjoyed themselves with winks and waves, and posed for the cameras of their families. They sang beautiful pieces and gave carefully-timed band performances. Some nervous first-time performers held each other’s hands for moral support. There were special performances by a couple of elementary students, Laynee Bakeberg and Zachery Dekle; as well as by a number of the high school students: Shayna Farlee, Charly Etzkorn, Erin Lemke, and the four Dekle sons, Cameron, Garrick, Zachary, and Stetson. All in all, it was an enjoyable and festive way to kick off the week of Christmas.
