Dupree Pioneer Days Rodeo

Teigan Gray of Eagle Butte rides Thad Bothwell’s bull Skidrow, lasting 3 seconds. “Been some time since a guy got him covered,” Gray said.

Calf wrestler Jesse Clement of Ridgeview catches his calf for a tie-down. Hand/eye coordination, speed, agility and a lot of practice are required of calf ropers who try to beat the best time, which can be as fast as 6.7 for a national rodeo winner, and on average are 8.8 or faster.
