The Dupree High School Class of 2018 said goodbye to the sheltered world of high school life as they celebrated with a commencement program for twenty graduates on Saturday, May 12.
Smiles and hugs were the theme of the day.
Doug Young was the guest speaker and was introduced by Valedictorian Seth Bendigo and Salutatorian Abby Martin.
After Young’s presentation, Martin gave her speech.
Class adviser, Mark Peacock, presented scholarships and announced the names of the people who the seniors had chosen to honor with a flower.
Bendigo created and showed a memory slide show.
Sha’Teal Pearman presented the ‘Just Breathe’ scholarship to Bailee Birkeland and the diplomas were awarded by Superintendent Brian Shanks, High Sschool Principal Pandi Pittman, and District 64-2 School Board Member, Leo Bakeberg.
For the community of Dupree, the Class of 2018 is a large class.
According to the school board meeting held on Monday, May 14, approximately fifteen kindergarten students will begin their student careers in the fall.
