The Dupree High School National Honor Society spread Christmas cheer to children and some young adults this season. Everyone knows that children love to be read to. Many adults and babysitters have heard the request to “Read me a story.”
The Dupree National Honor Society decided to continue the tradition and spread some hol-iday cheer. Each student made time to read stories to the PreK children at Dupree School. After reading the books, the older students gave the books to the younger students to take home. Then kids young and old trooped to the gym for an indoor snowball fight!
After the PreK students returned to their classroom, the NHS students put up their own Christmas tree as part of the Dupree School Parade of Trees. The tree is done in a blue and gold theme and showcases DHS NHS memories.
The Dupree National Honor Society spread more holiday cheer by sending care packages to Class of 2021 Dupree alumni who are working their way through final exams or finish-ing up their first semesters of postsecondary education. The NHS also sent care packages to Class of 2021 alums who are active members of the military.
It’s always great to get packages, especially from “home.” The alumni love getting the treats and school supplies as much as the current students love making the packages!
