CRST Health Fair held at Dupree School

Some of the Dupree juniors and seniors listening and learning about the CRST Youth Horsemanship Program and all that it offers to the local youth in the way of positive and healthy activity.

Health maintenance, from the dangers of tobacco use and consuming too much sugar to the values of driving safely and incorporating healthy exercise (in the form of horsemanship) into your lives, was the theme of the recent CRST Health Fair held at the Dupree School.  From the elementary students to the seniors in high school, students were encouraged to walk through the gym and visit booths on a variety of topics, such as those listed above and some on child care and the importance of immunizations.  For the older students, there was also information passed out pertaining to STDs and, for those sexually active or considering it in the future, the importance of practicing ‘safer’ sexual practices.  The groups that had booths at the health fair included:  CRST Immunization, CRST Women’s Health, the Youth Diabetes Program, CRST Diabetes Program, CRST Maternal Child Care, CRST Health Education (focusing on the dangers of tobacco use), CRST Youth Horsemanship Program, and the CRST Indian Highway Safety Program.
