CRST banishes four tribal members for distributing meth

The Cheyenne River Tribal Police Department announced today that four additional banishment orders have been issued to tribal members who were convicted of dealing methamphetamine.

Duciana Eagle Chasing, Jordan Paul Cass, Kasee Moran-Slader, and Naomi Falcon were served banishment orders.

Eagle Chasing and Cass were convicted of Distribution of a Controlled Substance (meth) in U.S. District Court earlier this year.

Slader was convicted of distributing meth in Hughes County in 2016.

Falcon was convicted in CRST Tribal Court in March 2017.

The latest banishments bring the total number to 14 since the CRST Tribal Council passed Resolution 182-2015-CR which banishes tribal members and individuals who have been convicted in tribal, federal, or state court of meth related offenses from the Cheyenne River Reservation.

Banishments are for life but after five years offenders can appeal to the tribal council for reconsideration.

If a banished individual is caught within the external boundaries of the reservation, they will be charged with federal trespassing.

If any of the individuals are seen on the reservation, officials are asking the public to notify law enforcement immediately.
