Chairman Harold Frazier, CRST, to Give State of the Tribe’s Address to the South Dakota Legislature

Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Chairman Harold Frazier will give a State of the Tribes Address to a joint session of the Legislature on Thursday, January 14, 2016. The address will begin at 1:30 p.m. CST in the State House Chamber. Seating is available for the public in the 4th floor House gallery.

The address by Chairman Frazier represents the first time that the South Dakota Legislature will gather in joint session to hear an address from a tribal leader. Senate President Pro Tempore Corey Brown called it “an important substantive and symbolic step towards building the relationship between the state and the tribes.”

South Dakota Public Broadcasting will broadcast the speech live on SDPB1 TV, SDPB Radio, and SDPB.org. The audio will also be available from the LRC website, legis.sd.gov.
