Chairman Harold Frazier announced Sunday that the total COVID-19 case count on Cheyenne River is 80 positive cases with no increase from the day before. There are 15 active cases with 64 recoveries and one death. The chairman said a total of 5,266 tests have been conducted with 5,186 negatives. There are 3,514 test kits available.
There are seven admissions in the service unit and one open bed. The two COVID-19 cases have been referred out for higher level care and are in stable condition, said Frazier.

A caller asked if a travel permit is needed, someone was turned away. It was unclear if the caller meant leaving or entering the reservation. The chairman answered that a travel permit is not required to leave the reservation. The Chairman will check on this specific case. He said if you go to a hotspot, it is strongly recommended to self-quarantine when you get home. If the travel is essential a permit it not needed to enter the reservation. Essential travel is commercial, agricultural, medical.
