According to posts on Facebook by Cross Country Coach Trina Lends His Horse, C-EB’s cross country team “had a great LNI meet” Saturday, Sept. 29.
Four Runners received medals. Daci Lends His Horse finished third, Raelynn Vines finished eleventh, and Isis Norris finished sixteenth.
Arianna Anderson placed in the girls’ JV run.
“We are very proud of all our student-athletes on their superb performances,” Lends His Horse wrote.
Lends His Horse made a special post about Junior Resse Ganje. She wrote:
Reese Ganje is a true competitor. This young lady messaged me in Mid-August and said she wanted to join XC. First of all I never truly thought she would show up, not only did she show up, she came to work. Next after the first meet at Mobridge after her race I thought when I met up with her back at camp that she was gonna kill me. I knew she never thought a race would be that difficult and exhausting. Surprisingly when I got there she told me it was fun and that she loved it. The thing I love most about Reese is her competitiveness and hard work ethic. She is doing all this to be in shape for her upcoming basketball season. She is already a great player that most would just stick to round ball but not this young lady she wants to be top notch. Another thing is she is a true leader for our group, she treats the younger runners with utmost respect and they look up to her everyday. Reese recently ran a personal best at the LNI XC meet in Rapid City and knocked 3 full minutes off her time. This young lady is going to be a force to be reckoned with in November! Watch out SD! Remember it’s not what place or how fast you run it’s that you always give it your all! Reese gives it her all every single day!!
The C-EB Cross Country team has its home meet on Thursday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the golf course.
The team will close the season out with an honoring of parents and its traditional soup dinner.
“I hope you all come out to support our athletes. They are very deserving! Keep working hard Braves XC!! You Rock!” wrote Lends His Horse.
