Eagle Butte

Agweek edition moved from March 21 to March 28 due to adverse weather conditions

According to agday.org, Ag Day will be celebrated on March 14, 2019. National Ag Day falls during National Ag Week, March 10-16, 2019.

The Agriculture Council of America hosts the campaign on a national level and encourages Americans to recognize the contribution of agriculture to everyday lives.

It also encourages people to make an effort to “understand how food and fiber products are produced; value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy; and appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products,” according to agday.org.

The West River Eagle runs a special edition annually highlighting Agweek. This year, adverse weather conditions made gathering information for the special edition more difficult; therefore, we have to move the edition to March 28.

Anyone who celebrated Agday or Agweek, and would like to share their experiences through an article, photos with captions, or just a conversation for one of our reporters to follow up on, please contact the WRE office at 964-2100.
