2nd annual Rope, Ride & Slide action features new events this year

It’s that time of year again, time for the 2nd annual Rope, Ride & Slide event at the Dupree Rodeo Arena on Saturday, September 15 at 4 p.m.

This year’s match will pit Bronc Riders and Steer Wrestlers against each other in their individual main events followed by them pairing up for team roping to show off their all around rodeo talents.

The events will feature NFR, Badlands Circuit, SDRA and NRCA Finals Qualifiers.

Each event will feature 20 contestants competing in a long round with the top five coming back for a short round or sudden death. There will be $2000 added purse in each event.

A calf roping scramble will feature three guys in the arena with nine calves. First guy to rope and tie down three calves wins.

Added features this year will be a Youth Calf Scramble, an Adult Calf Scramble and a Wild Steer Riding Contest, which features a 3 man team to rope, saddle and ride a steer across the finish line.

Gate fees are $10 per person or $25 per car load. Social hour will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the main event to follow at 4:00 p.m.

Kick your heels up in the beer garden after the performance. Concessions and bar will be open courtesy of the Pioneer Days Rodeo Committee.
