Amazon to start collecting taxes from online South Dakota shoppers



For years, South Dakota internet shoppers have enjoyed the bargains Amazon.com has offered along with tax-free purchases, but that will change February 1.  Governor Dennis Daugaard announced on Tuesday during his State of the State address that Amazon will start collecting sales tax on purchases beginning February 1. The state will beginning receiving the tax money in late March.
